Milestones - First Section

Join us for a morning devoted to making us stronger, more flexible and improving our balance.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is open to anyone who would like to:

  • Improve their physical strength
  • Improve core stability and balance 
  • Develop flexibility
  • Develop power in our movements
  • Develop a sense of calm

T’ai Chi is a powerful tool which; in addition to making us more flexible and strengthening our bodies, will help prevent injury and illness.

T'ai Chi is suitable for all levels of fitness, if you have any concerns regarding this please do not hesitate to ring us.

Workshop Content:

We will learn and practice the 'milestone' postures of the first section of the form, establishing the static structures necessary for correct practice.

Learning materials will be provided for you to take notes should you wish and to keep as an aide memoire for your own practice.  In addition to this material and talking to me, please talk to your fellow students some of whom will more advanced students and all I am sure will be happy to answer your questions.

I will bring my flip chart along to help get the concepts across and there will be plenty of time for questioning and exploring some undelying concepts.

Three hours may seem like a long time but it really will fly by, at these workshops there is a relaxed atmosphere with much laughter and plenty of breaks and plenty of tea!

What to expect form the workshop:

Beginners: Learn the fundamental milestones of the first section of the long Yang form.
Intermediate: learning the remainder of the milestones of the first section that has yet to be learned. A deepening understanding and refinement of the milestones that have already been learned.
Advanced: A deepening understanding of the first section. Some drills to help absorb some of the concepts on a physical level and make them more spontaneous and with more substance.
