The conditions of modern life are such that many of us take as ‘normal’ what is in fact a rather tense and wound up state of being, which has inevitable long term consequences for our health, quality of life and relationships, among other things.
Whether we just need to learn to relax a little more, or whether the stresses and strains we live under are becoming intolerable, Traditional Chinese Medicine has a lot to offer. Rooted as it is in a time-honoured view of life which values the smooth flow of our energy – what the Chinese call Qi – and a state of being which is consequently relaxed and able to maintain an even-mindedness and tranquillity throughout the ups and downs of life.
Acupuncture, traditional Chinese massage, herbal medicine, T’ai Chi and Chi Kung may all have a more than useful role to play in helping us to relax more fully and deeply into life and thus to live more fulfilled and happier lives.
